Az első szerepe 2003-ban volt, apja mellett játszott a Doki c. tv sorozatban. Még abban az évben a mozivásznon debütált a Big Fish (Nagy Hal) című filmben amiben Ruthie-t alakította. Majd Rhonda Vincent 'If Heartaches have Wings' klippjében szerepelt. Szerepelt a Colgate Country Showdown-ban, édesapjával Billy Ray Cyrus-szal. Még csak 12 éves volt, amikor először énekelt apukájával a színpadon.
Aztán jött a nagy áttörés, a Hannah Montana.
2006. június 22-én élő koncertet adott, a floridai Disney World-ben, Hannah Montanaként, majd a The Cheetah Girls nevű trióval indult koncertkörútra.
2006. október 24-én megjelent a Hannah Montana soundtrack-je, ami több hétig vezette a különböző zenei listákat.
